I don't know when or why this trend started via social media, but showing off is not marketing. Your customers don't give a crap how much money you make or what you purchase with your money. Potential customers do not care about your photos of all the expensive things you've purchased. Marketing is about providing value and sharing with potential customers how you can solve their problems.
