Let me share this with you. The only millionaire is the person teaching you the course. Yes, they are making millions off of small business owners who still think growing a business happens overnight.

A Guru's number one purpose is to separate you from your money and to get you to buy the courses they teach so that they can continue being rich. You on the other hand, after spending your money, are left with a pile of programs that will not grow your business any faster. Now I am not saying that all programs taught by Internet Coaches are designed to just take your money, however, there are a ton that do. It is your job to discern what is real and fake. 

Listen, it takes time to grow a business. If someone tells you different, they're lying to you. I'm always honest and up front during my very first meeting when a potential client is ready to hire me. I let them know before I take their money that I will utilize my 20 + years of marketing skills to help them grow their business, but it is not going to happen right away. I specialize in working with soloprenuers. They are usually not established in their field of expertise yet. So I make sure they understand just how long the process of proven results will take.

On average, marketing results for a new business takes 6 to 12 months to see any type of response from a targeted market of potential customers. And this does not mean that any large amount of profits will be made. That usually manifests in 2 to 3 years. Folks, this is how business growth works. You cannot create a website, or social media page and think the world will make hundreds of purchases. It just does not happen that way. Growing a business is a continuous process of building trust with potential customers.

An Internet Guru will lead you to believe that you can instantly gain a 100,000 person email list to sell your products and services just by paying for their online course. It may happen, but not as quickly as you might think. When I first started email marketing years ago, it took me 3 years just to grow my list to 5,000 business owners. Not random opt-in's, but business owners that regularly pay for my services. Three years! And I know exactly how to grow an email list. Why did it take so long? Because the bigger the list the longer it takes.

It's funny how many soloprenuers will gather up enough funds to spend on a marketing course they saw on their social media timeline, but won't invest in hiring a marketing expert to help with business growth. They think that the course they paid for has taught them all they need to know about marketing a business. By the time they figure out they need to hire a marketing professional all their money is spent.
